Workshop Description	SMART Notebook software Version 10 has arrived!!! Notebook™ collaborative learning software provides the tools to create and deliver engaging, interactive learning experiences across grades, subjects and learning styles. Version 10 is powerful, intuitive and easy to use with Windows® and Mac OS operating systems. In this workshop you will learn about and see demonstrations of all of the new features in SMART Notebook 10 software.

ORIENTATION Introduction to Basic SMART Board Operation
Workshop Description	This workshop session is led by a SMART certified Master's trainer who works with SMART products every day. In this workshop, you will be introduced to set up procedures, hardware components, and how to use and operate the interactive whiteboard. Features of the Notebook software will be introduced with emphasis on the on-line training and free sample lessons. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be comfortable with the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and ready to start using it in your classroom.

FUNDAMENTALS SMART Board Basics, SMART Notebook Essentials
Workshop Description	This workshop session is led by a SMART trainer who works with SMART products every day. This four hour workshop will introduce you to the basics of the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. You will learn how to use and operate the interactive whiteboard more effectively, how to work with applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel® and PowerPoint® on your SMART Board interactive whiteboard, and how to use and manipulate Notebook™ software to create presentations that are enriched with graphic detail and interactivity. Participants will receive a SMART Master’s Interactive Whiteboard Learner Workbook, which includes reference material, step-by-step activities and review exercises. The workbook is used during the session and is ideal for future reference. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be comfortable with the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and Notebook™ software, and know how to use them in your work.

Masters Level-2 SMART Notebook Lesson Design and Delivery
Workshop Description	Learn how to design lesson activities in Notebook collaborative learning software by adding style and incorporating interactive content at this full-day hands-on workshop. By the end of this workshop, you’ll be comfortable creating and organizing lessons using the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and Notebook software. You will receive a level 2 Notebook software learner workbook that includes reference material, step-by-step activities and review exercises. The workbook is used during the session and is an excellent future reference. You will have time to ask questions and create interactive lesson activities. This workshop is not to be missed!

Users of SMART Board interactive whiteboards who have completed Notebook software training level 1, attended a SMART Master’s event or who have at least one year of experience using Notebook software K–12 teachers and administrators, and higher education instructors who want to understand how to integrate the SMART Board interactive whiteboard into their curriculum Anyone who wants to have a better understanding of how to use the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and SMART Notebook™ software to plan, create, and deliver dynamic lessons for your classroom
What Will You Accomplish?	In this workshop you will learn about: Intermediate design in Notebook software: Learn how Notebook software can help you to structure lessons more effectively. Use new tools and add rich media content to lesson activities. Examine samples of SMART Notebooks and then learn to create your own. Delivering lessons and leveraging interactive tools: Learn best practices for teaching with an interactive whiteboard. Discover the differences between using Notebook software to create presentations in advance and using the software spontaneously in your classroom. Tools for assessing student learning: Review the science of evaluation and assessment, and build assessment activities. Learn how to use Notebook software in your formative and summative evaluations of your students and their work. Additional resources: Find out how SMART supports you with a number of resources, including free training materials and an online community.

Workshop Description	Are you comfortable with using the SMART Board? Do you want to learn more? Are you looking for specific ideas and resources for the subjects that you teach but often just do not have the time to find them? Valley Academy is pleased to offer our new workshops tailored to the curriculum content of elementary and secondary school teachers. In these full day workshops, you will examine best practices, and leave with exciting new ideas and ways to use the SMART Board in your own classroom. At the end of this workshop, you will leave knowing how to teach with an interactive SMART Board and will have a toolbox of resources and ideas on a resource CD to take with you. These workshops are not to be missed!

Who Should Attend?	The Elementary Workshop, for K to 5 teachers, will cover ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Secondary Workshops, offered to teachers of grades 6 to 12, will be organized by content – one session each for Math, Science, Social Studies, and ELA.
