Kathy Picard - 2014 Pynchon Award Winner

"They Honor Us Whom We Honor"

Kathy Picard, a valued Valley Communications Systems employee, is this year’s prestigious Pynchon Award winner.

Kathy was one of 24 nominees.  A frequent speaker to police recruits, she was nominated for the award by Louis M. Barry, retired Granby Police Chief.
Cast in bronze, the William Pynchon Award bears the name and likeness of Springfield’s founder, and is inscribed with a simple but powerful quotation: “They honor us whom we honor.”
The award is given to individuals in the region who give selflessly of themselves for the betterment of their community, in honor of William Pynchon, whose life and achievement typify the ideals of active citizenship and community volunteerism. Honorees are inducted into the Order of William Pynchon and presented with a bronze medal and citation. Please join us in congratulating Kathy for her superb efforts.

Rita Tremble, founder of Valley Communications, is a former winner of the Pynchon Award.
